who is running STBs front and rear and bigger sway bars/links?
Pardon my ignorance. I'm new to your Monte Carlo world though this is my 3rd Monte. Please explain the benefits of the ST Brace. I had a 57 Chevy that I added a brace that connected the top of the rear shocks to the frame instead of the body. This was supposed to give a better ride and make the top shock mount more secure so they couldn't pull out of the body. What does connecting the braces to each other accomplish?

I'm not an expert, so others feel free to chime in.
As I understand, it's much like a sway bar. The strut brace ensures the tops of the struts/strut towers stay parallel to each other. In some strong performance driving, the sheet sheet steel that makes up the towers could flex one way or another, changing the angle of the strut, thus altering the handling of the car because the steering may not stay true at that time.

It's really odd to drive a car with and without them. I didn't notice a big difference just adding a rear STB when I had the front for the life of the car.
But then I drove a Monte without any STBs and it definitely rolled more in the turns.

i know my 7th gen came with the sway bars front and back just wish i had the money to replace the bushings to the poly. but for now there doing fine i probably replace them when they are worn out. i am waiting to get the funds to get the stb and the brackets i dont really like the idea to drill into the body chancing for rust. my issue with out those brackets are the rust issue when drilling into body it is hard to cover up the bare metal aspect. what i mean trying to repaint or rust proofe metal when all paint is gone in a hard place to reach is a little hard
