Default Wheel hub play?

I was told, by my tire guys that one of my wheel hubs is bad. I went to check it after reading up on it and there was some play in the up and down motion. Both hubs have a tiny amount of play when doing this though by jacking up the car and moving the tire. Is that normal? Should there be a tiny amount of play as normal or no play at all as normal?

Are you having problems with the wheel hub? Does it get louder the more you accelerate the car? That's when I would be concerned about the wheel hub.

Not making any sounds at all. There is a tiny bit of play in both front sides though. I am just wondering if that tiny bit of play is normal on our cars or not. If not its not much work for me to replace both of them and I can get the parts for cheap.
