Default Tires for 02 Monte

My tires are starting to lose tread and will need new ones by winter. Rather than getting tires myself im looking for expert help. Id like to buy them off tire rack and have a mechanic friend do the work. Ideas for prefrences on tires. Thanks

Michelin Hydroedge

They're good in all weather, snow, rain, dry whatever, plus they're very quiet, comfortable, soft and grip very well

Get a budget in mind, and just look at the ratings

Get a good treadwear, good traction, and good temp rating and get what you need

Having a dedicated winter tire and summer tire is better than wasting money on an all-season.

+1. Great experience with HydroEdge on our '02 Monte. Tire Rack usually has them.

x3 on this tire rack has them but discounttire.com is cheaper I believe cause the shipping was free. You may wanna double chack that. Anyway they're Michelin Hydroedge with Green X (basically enviromentally friendly i guess) I bout em awhile ago for my new rims and love them.

I asked this question somewhere else on the forum, but haven't received any input. Can I run a 235x50x17 on my 2002 Monte? My 225 x 60 16's are done and I want to go bigger.

I have had good luck with Michelin and Nitto...

you should be able to run 235/50/17 if you have not lowered the car. You can look at the specs on tirerack.com. The diameter of one 235/50/17 I looked at was 28.2. I think stock is around 26.

No she's box stock, so think I'll go with the 235 17. Thank you!
