tire, wheel size

I want to run old style ralleys on my 85 ss, what is the widest wheel and tire combo for me? Age old question I guess.

8" ralleye wheels can take 285/65r15 in the back and 235/60r15 up front depending on offset. Or just go 235/60r15's for all 4 for rotating purposes.

Thanks man, I bought 2- 8'' for the back with 4" backspace, going to get a couple of 6" for the front. I won't be driving he car every day, mostly weekend cruiser and drag raceing.
