Hi,

On a bit of a mod roll this week... is there a rear brake upgrade available for the 05 Monte SS?

I have got the F-body fronts almost ready to put on (they're all powdercoated bright orange to match my TStewart color scheme) and since I am going to stainless braided lines, and new pads...etc...

the rears are 11" right? is there a compatible 12" upgrade as well with big calipers?

I have seen the ZZP one and it seems a bit much, especially since I wanna go with my own rotors and pads.

 

I believe the Pontiac GP GXP has a 12" vented rear brake system. I think it's going to be hard to replicate for cheap. I'm thinking $1,000 - 1,200 for new / reman stuff. Junkyard parts it's hard to say.

 

Yes, thank you for the info on the GXP rears. not too much information on here, but over at clubgp there was a very good thread on it, and a thread over at

has the parts list and GM PN#'s on it. I don't think it will run as much as you think, I was hearing the calipers/brackets could be gotten for $350 or so, add in the rotors, the pads, and its mid $600's which for a rear isn't too bad. I know, its near the ZZP price point, but you can choose which rotors & pads you want, etc. And it wont come pre-powdercoated red (which in my case would add expense when I want to get these in orange to match the fronts.)


Guess I am gonna go with the GXP upgrade for the rears as soon as I can locate the parts, hopefully at a boneyard.
