Suspension drop
I was wondering if anyone has put lowering springs on a 00-04 monte carlo yet. I was thinking about the idea, but I was wondering if it makes a noticable difference or not as far as ride and looks go.

RE: Suspension drop
Joe,
I would agree with Earth, I think it would look pretty cool lowered. It does not seem to be very expensive as well.
I found a couple of links with spring kits.

RE: Suspension drop
I lowered my 02 SS about 2" front and rear and put 17 x 8.5 rims with P255-45 Z-rated tires on it. Ride is stiffer, but not uncomfortable, handling is greatly improved and it looks great. Overall it is awesome!
I used Eibach springs and KYB struts. Parts were around $600, wheels and tires about $1,800, and labor to install everything about $400 for a total of around $2,800.
I love the way it looks and handles. I do have to be careful on speed bumps, but haven't had alot of problems with it scraping or bottoming out. The wheels and tires fill out the wheelwells perfectly.
I would not suggest using 20's. The tire for that size rim has no sidewall, which will kill the ride. Even the Monte SS has a soft ride, but installing high performance springs will really tighten it up, without beating you to death.
It is noticeable that it has been lowered, especially when you pull up next to a stock SS.
I don't have any pics, but can get some and either post them or email them to anyone wanting to see what it looks like.
