It's not that the STB wouldn't fit on a supercharged engine, it's just that the supercharged engine cost GM more to make, so they took out some things in the Monte.

Honestly though... it's much easier for you L67 guys to put an STB on, than us L36 guys to put a supercharger on.

The black loop on the drivers side of the trunk lid (just like in the pic Chris posted) is for closing the trunk.

The neon green handle is so the trunk can be opened from inside the trunk.

Thanks for the pic Chris, yep mine doesn't have it either lol
No STB, or trunk strap, but i do have a supercharger hahaha :P
From the picture of the trunk strap, to ME, it doesn't seem practical, i mean when you pull down on the strap wouldn't the trunk come down on your arm? or maybe you kinda have to give it a hard pull and move you hand fast enough??

I do the kind of hard tug and move my hand. Never had the thing come down on me. A lot of people just use it to grab at the trunk, and then close it with their hand on the spoiler... but I hate doing that.

You know what Mike, that makes sense.
I think that might be the original idea behind it, you know maybe for shorter people who may not be able to reach the trunk lid once its all the way up, grab the strap, lower the trunk lid, place hand on trunk lid and close!
It might not be so that you DONT touch the trunk at all. This makes more sense....to me.

Yup - for us short people it comes in real handy. When I bought my 05, and noticed it not there - that was the first "mod" I did to my car LOL!

but honestly the supercharged versions didnt come with the STB or the lil pull strap uh i dont think either of those would of raised the price of the car that much, ur already paying more for the supercharged over the non GM does do some dumb things
