You also might be missing the strap on the trunk lid to easily grab and close the trunk without having to touch the outside of the car

GM likes to not include things after a little while to keep some costs down.

i actually saw an 03 ls with a stb stock earlier this morning on a salvage site

 

i was considering those bmr stb but they are costly. dont they run like 160/piece??? im sure there worth it, they look very high quality. there are other options out there through gmpp, wbodystore, and zzp.

 

I put a GMPP STB on my 06, with brackets.

And my 06 HAS the strap in the trunk. So if they stopped it in 04-05, they started putting them in again in 06.

 

My car is Supercharged but I don't know why that would make a difference. It looks like the STB would still fit. I have some type of handle inside the trunk lid but I thought it was for if someone was trapped in the truck and it would open it from inside. I will have to look at it closer.

Yes, i've seen what you are describing, its the neon green handle.
But I doubt that's what Mike was talking about, hey Michael, do you have a photo by any chance lol

I just went and looked and no black strap. The glow in the dark green handle is what I thought it was. I'm still curious as to why there is no STB. What about the 04 intimidator cars? Do you guys have a STB?
