spring question.

spring question.
I'm probably going to be replacing my struts in the near future. Car has 99,600 miles on it and while the ride is not that bad, there seems to be some banging around in the front while going over bumps. Front end checks out fine so I know it's not that.
My question is this, are you guys replacing your springs when you are replacing the struts or are you just re-using them? Car doesn't look like it is sagging anywhere. I can get AC-Delco replacements from between $65-84 a set depending where I buy. Thanks for any input.

The original coils should do fine when you change out your shocks. They do wear out over time though, if you want a factory feel I'd go with a ready mount kit that comes with everything(shock/strut,coil & mount all together) Installation is quicker, & everything is new.
It may be your mount thats bad, or even a broken sway bar link. The factory links are pencil thin & snap easily.
Mine will be changed when I have the money, mainly because I'm lowering the monte.
edit: I experienced a problem when I changed my shocks out on my 93 buick. The suspension is set up almost identical. The shock was actually loose after the install causing a bang/rumble/rattle noise every time I hit a bump. Eventually it was fixed with some thread locker. The ones you have might of loosened up, or like I said the mount/shock bearing may be bad.

I have not found a complete strut kit for the FE4 suspension that my Dale Jr. car has. If you know where I can get one, I would check it out. My car has the 17" wheels so the strut kits out there won't work with it and I'm not putting smaller wheels on this car.
I plan on putting new strut mounts in when I replace the struts but was debating on the springs. Thanks for the input.
