Cool Rims For A Monte Carlo 1977

Hey everyone,

i have question about rim size etc..
im driving a monte carlo of 1977
the original rim size is about 16"
im planning of changing to 20" but , since these 20" are heavier,
does it have any effect on the servo , or other things ?
and how wide can the tire be?
im not so familliar with these kind of things since im europian :p
and this is my first american car , but i have to say
im proud to have it , it really drives nicely

thanks for your help , See you

putting 20's on it may be a good idea to upgrade your brakes as you will have more unsprung weight and a larger rotating mass, i'm sure if you search the web you will find what bolt pattern, back spacing and width you will need to run

if its a 77 id be surprised if the original wheels werent 14". the bolt pattern should be the standard 4 3/4 x 5 gm bolt pattern. i dont know about 20s on it and how wide you can go but i know ive seen chevelles with 295s on them not rubbing. i would look maybe for protouring builds on chevelles and monte carlos to get an idea of how big and wide you can go.
