yeah theyll fit. i wouldnt want to go smaller width on a wheel id want to go larger. and what size tires are you trying to put on there? ive run 185-225 on a 6 inch rim before with no problem.

I found some rims that are 17x7/1/2 which is just too big, i need 16 inchers. The tires are 225/60r16/98h, the width is 6-8. I just dont know if my wheel well can handle more than stock, my wheels now are only about an inch from the mud flaps.

if youre worried about them making contact with the mud flap i have to assume you mean the tread and that would be an overall diameter issue. if thats the case then you should be fine as long as you dont go an inch taller than your current setup. heres a calculator to input your current size and the size youre thinking about and itll give you an ide of how much bigger they are going to be.

Depending upon what the wheels look like they'll look good.

Im thinking a 8 or so spoked black gloss rim. Want some black chrome but no can do on that. http://www.thewheelconnection.com/ph...fset=45#222751, like these but a cheaper, junk yard rim. I got my body shop guy looking for some nice rims that we could paint. I just want to make the outside of my monte look a little cooler.

Those are alright. I don't think you'll find anything like that in a junkyard.
