Relocating the Parking brake lever...
This has always been one of the things i have not liked about our cars... the parking/emergency brake on the floor by the feet...
I have decided i would like to move it to the center console like many other cars have. i think it looks better and could be fun
anyone heard of this being done?
I dont know much about the emergency braking system, but i am a pretty handy guy.
I would most likely mount it to the left of the shifter, in place of the ever useless rectangle like pocket area of the center console.
I honestly dont have a clue how i would do it, but if i knew how, im sure i could pull it off.
so far this is the only lead i have, compliments of google lol

Any ideas would be great. or just a basic explanation of how the e-brake system works on our cars or how a e-brake lever works so i could start doing some more in depth brainstorming.
Side note, i plan on fiberglassing a new center console if needed so this could be done.
thanks

Cool idea.
It makes me think about how they moved the switch for the brites from the floor to the steering column. That was a IDEA back in the day that really stuck. The problem with that was that blonds kept getting their foot stuck in the steering wheel when tryin to change the lights. Eventualy they caught on.

Matt to the rescue. Yeah Kuntzie from w-body.com did this. On his, yes, 5 speed swapped, turbo 3800, air bagged grand prix.

just to set the record straight it is a PARKING BRAKE and never an emergency brake although it can stop a car if the brakes failed completely, but with diagonal split systems that is a one in a million chance of happening.
