Unhappy rear wheel bullitt rims on front wheel drive monte

I am trying to replace a damaged bullitt rim on my 1999 Monte Carlo Z34. I finally got the right offset, key pattern, etc. but now the tire company refused to put it on stating that it is made for a rear wheel drive car and mine is front wheel drive and that it fits, but not good enough for him to put it on. Any suggestions? Is this accurate? I take it that it would not be ok to have someone else put it on?

What company are you dealing with - never heard of wheels and tires built for "rear wheel drive". I'm assuming the rims you are referring to are the Mustang Bullitt rims. I know Monte owners have gotten similar rims to fit even though they are marketed as Mustang rims. If you found the correct offset and bolt pattern I don't see any issues putting them on your car.

The offset is the only difference between FWD and RWD that I know of. Some places are particular about installing non-hubcentric wheels on FWD cars though

It was Dobbs. My husband just put on the old one and the new one and there is almost no difference. The only difference is that the lug holes on the new one is not quite as deep.

Agree take it somewhere else. I had a tire shop refuse to sell me my nittos because they were not the correct size. Went down the street and now I have my nittos lol
