Talking Project: Polished Fender braces

Here's where im at.... this is a 60" by 2" by 3/8" thick alum. bar.... pretty beefy lol its more than enough for both of the braces



hopefully i can get it cut and have the holes drilled today

Aluminum would make a poor STB.. It would just bend. Unless it was very beefy

And I already have an aluminum STB
It's not beefy at all lol

Very cool idea! I had this idea and was even in Lowe's with a large piece of this ready to check out a few days ago... then something changed. I picked up some sand paper and ditched the aluminum piece and then went crazy on my existing cross braces

Should be able to get an awesome mirror finish out of those and they're flat so they'll look super clean in your engine bay Best of luck, I'm going to keep my eye on this thread
