Default Overpricing?
Today I called my local Chevy dealer to price check some 2007 monte Carlo as rims (18 inches) and the guy said they were 549$ a piece without tires!!!

Does the pricing sound right??

You would be better off buying used ones, the dealer always want way too much for there rims

Yeah believe it or not that price is probably accurate being from a dealer.. Used is a much better option. They also make plenty of aftermarket wheels in which you could get a set of 4 for the price of one of those. A good used set without or needing tires would probably go $600-800 for all four.

If that is $549 for a set of 4 rims, that's not too bad a price. But if that is ONE rim, that is crazy, go after market or go for used rims.
