Thanks Vincent. The wheels and tires, brand new from TireRack.com. It was about $1100-$1200 shipped to my door.
As for the calipers/brakes, in the works. The car is covered for the winter and I pulled the calipers off a couple weeks ago. A friend of mine will be blasting them and then off to powder coating

What made the car "settle" on its own? It knows not what tires/rims are on it, nor the spacing left in the wells. I am lost here ... Almost more than I have ever been when it comes to something automotive.

When you jack a car up, it fully extends the suspension when the wheel is off the ground (such as stretching the coil springs, allowing the struts to go their max distance and a host of other small things). Most of the time when you put the car back down (putting a load back on the suspension) you don't notice if it's resting a little higher then normal.
In this case with the new wheels, resting a little higher then normal is more noticeable. Once you take it for a little drive or sometimes letting it sit, gravity pulls the suspension back to normal.
Hope that helps

It's not about how long the suspension is hanging, it's about the fact it is hanging. It's fully extended.
Either that or it's the placebo effect..... lol
