Default New tires?

HELP! Can someone recommend new, all weather tires, that handle well in the snow? I replaced the original tires on my 2006 Monte SS with the Goodyear Eagle RSAs two years ago and now I have dry rot and cracking on all of my sidewalls and only about 10K miles on them! I saw that this is common with these tires (wish I'd seen it two years ago!) and now I have no idea what a good replacement would be. Thank you! Andie

Right after I bought my 05 used for my DD - it had the original tires on it - the RSAs. I decided to go with the Goodyear Eagle GTs. I've put 20k miles on them and I think they perform well in the bad weather. Go to Tirerack.com and you can compare different tires and they also test and rank them. Very good info there.

2nd for Eagle GT's, that's what I run.
Anything is an improvement over RSA's!
Goodyear Tripletread are pretty good too.
If you're not a fan of Goodyear, BFGoodrich Traction T/A.

I have about 30-40K miles on a set of Michelin HydroEdge tires. I think they're great. Quiet, smooth ride, good grip in rain. I haven't had to try them in snow; Michelin says they're good for 'light snow.'

these are virtually the same thing as the tripleedge from goodyear, and they are good in snow, the only difference is a small tread difference and the goodyears are a harder rubber so they wont always ride as soft.

There are definitely better tires, than what I bought, but for the price and when looking at all the reviews on TireRack, you'll see why I got them.

Wish I would have read this thread before posting one.
Eagle GT's are great, at almost half the price of RS-A's...
Bunch of people have told me they are a great wet weather and also snow tire.
The wear rating on the GT's are 400, and the RS-A's I think are 200...
I have to say the RS-A's were a smoother, quieter ride... but not by much over the GT's. Almost bought the Formula 1's, but I couldn't resist the great price on the GT's.
