New Rotors and Brakes
Not sure that this is the right area but, I'm needing new rotors(preferably drilled and slotted) and brake pads, but not sure what to get, thought some of you might know a little more. I have an '03 SS.

I got "brakemotive" off of ebay and I have over 100K miles on them and the pads still have more than half the thickness to them. Some people say they had problems with them like grinding and such and others say there is no need for D/S rotors and they dont work as well, But if there is any problem, you can return them. And as for them not working as well, mine work a hell of a lot better than stock and I love them. They cost 160 or 180 for front and back rotors and ceramic pads (i dont know about the pads being ceramic pads though seeing as I have tons of brake dust and have to clean my rims all the time) But I have them for my car and a friend has them for his cavalier and we havnt had ANY problems with them, and like I said, they work sooo much better than stock. They look cooler too

They also have these on ebay, but I know nothing about these and how they are. But the brakemotive brakes have 100% posotive feedback so they're doing somthing right??>>

one thing i would stay away from on ebay is the people that do 2000-2004 or similar, because it seems like they dont know what theyre talking about because that edition goes to 2005, seems fishy to me and i prefer not to buy from those dealers, but thats just me

I'm one of the people who are not impressed, nor happy with brakemotives brakes on ebay.
I would check out summitracing.com or placeforbrakes.com (good prices on some ebc pads and such)

I bought the Ebay rotors, and lets put it this way, I installed the fronts first because I NEEDED new front brakes. And I was going to install the rears later. Well, I am NEVER installing the rears. In fact I went out and spent close to $400 on 4 new EBC slotted only rotors. The Ebay rotors in my experience were no better than stock as far as warping. Mine were warped within 10,000 miles.

IMHO.... I think what you buy depends mostly on your car parking scenario. I put 40K miles on my cross drilled slotted rotors from a dude who runs Milzy Motorsports about 5 years ago (they did look nice). I then went to college and the rotors rusted out to worthlessness in no time flat.... So bottom line if you park outdoors now or anytime soon, I would not trust any other then stock flat. If you garage/baby her it would be worth while.
