Default New Brakes Today!!

I just got the f-body brakes off of a camaro at the junk yard today. They still look great but are a little dirty. Does anyone know what the best thing to clean calipers and brakets is? And also when i install them is it necessary to use the 20.5" front ss lines? Ive heard mixed things about the lines.

i used wire brush and spray brake cleaner to get all the crap off. i would go to gm and get a new dust boot for the dual pistons to who know how many miles on the car and since you got it at the junk yard you should replace them. i'm running stock lines right now with no problem. just bend the brake line brackets little bit.

i still do. they stop real good going 109 mph with stock brake lines. i didn't use the sleeve for the bracket bolts instead took to the machine shop and have them drill with 12.0mm bit then tap using 14mm X 2.0 tap. this way you be able to use the stock bracket bolts instead of the sleeves. i wouldn't use the sleeves period. i heard story they come out.

get goodrich stainless brake lines, i heard nothing but good feed back about them. they are stock size, all you have to do is bend the brake line brackets down little bit. just play with with it til there's good slack for the wheels. i'm running all stock lines right now. both my front and rear zzp stainless line broked. some people say the stainless lines give that pedal feel stopping power. hell i can't tell they both feel about the same to me.
