Default Need pads & rotors with low dust and noise.

I bought from brakemotive June of 2010 and they lasted a year or so and they are warped to h*** now. I won't buy drilled/slotted anymore since you have a tough time finding someone to grind them down when they get warped. Anyways, I am wanting some input on a good set of front & possibly rear rotors and pads. I don't want to spend a fortune but I do want them to be quiet and not throw a ton of dust. Are the thermo-quiet's any good? Other suggestions?

Any time you use a drilled, slotted or drilled/slotted rotor you will see an accelerated increase in wear due to their design. If you want quiet operation and long service life the OE equipment will serve the purpose well. If you go to the aftermarket look at either Raybestos or Bendix.

It seems like it's about 50% as far as drilled and slotted rotors go. Either people have no problem with them or they are junk after a year. I would go with an OEM style rotor and some ceramic pads.

I have heard great things about Blank Centric Rotor replacements, and just throw a decent ceramic pad with them and you should be happy.

Also MAKE SURE your wheels are constantly at the proper torque settings. Improperly torqued wheels can increase your rotor wear.

Really? I have never heard that before. How does that work, how tight should my wheels be?

100 ft/lbs torque.

When you improperly torque a wheel you are putting extra strain on the hub of the rotor, and it might be uneven which aids in warping.

I put Wagner rotors and Wagner Thermoquiet pads (semi-metallic I think) on the front about a year ago. Bought them at O'Reilly Auto. Rotors have a Lifetime warranty; if they ever warp, just take them back to O'Reilly and they hand you new replacements. They offer great stopping power (lots of hills where I live) and fairly low dust. I'm happy with them.
