Default In need of new shoes.

Well winter is here and I have bologna skins on my Monte. I need some good tires for all season and especially good traction in the winter, (I live in Michigan) My budget is NO MORE than $500. I have been looking at Tire Rack, Discount, and Belle. Your opinions count so can you guys and ladies help me out with your thoughts, Please?

Thanks, Mike

I don't have winter rims either so I'm running Goodyear Eagle GTs on my car. I really haven't driven in too much deep snow yet - they do a good job keeping the road clear where I live. But, I am confident that they will perform well. Mounting an balancing cost me around $500 - I bought them from Tirerack and got them mounted locally.

Hey you live in Michigan as well. I'm not to far from you I'm in Waterford if your familar with that area. Your not to far from me. I would not recommend anything Kuhmo! I have a pair of Kuhmo's and they are all seasons, and I loose traction under moderate acceleration during and after the road is semi wet. Dry they handle ok.

My Hankook Optimo H727's claim to be all season. I do'nt know how they are in snow and ice, I try not to drive it in those conditions anyway (using the truck or the parents van). They do great in the rain and sun anyways, and I think they were about $515 out the door.

Well, I have put my order in and have chosen the Hankook Optimo H727's.
Cowboy, I will let you know how they work in the snow. Thanks a bunch for all your input everyone.

Thumbs up

Well I got the Hankook Optimo H727's mounted and balanced. They are great in the snow compared to the Goodyear Eagle GA tires I had. So for now great tires.

Some people claim they are quiet... well, they don't know the difference between an engine and a tire. But I've never run on stock Good Years so they may very well be quiet, I don't know. I don't know why I didn't say that earlier.. I guess it was another thread I talked about the noise.

Glad you went with the 727. There are like 3 different Optimo's.
