Got my winter wheels
These are 16's that came from my old 94 Bonneville that I scrapped. I sold them to my boss before I got my monte. Then I get the monte and find out they will fit it, but he sold one. So I traded him my old converter for the 3 and a good friend at the junkyard found me a 4th for only $30. Now I can put away the Dale Jr 17's for the winter and even get them resurfaced/ re-cleared

I'm going to wrap them in Firestone Winterforce, which I can get at work for $72 each. My only question now, to stud, or not to stud

couldn't tell you to studs of not...i had a set of hankook winter tires on my monte last year that were studiable but mn law prohibits.... they seemes to grip real well without...
gunna try to fit em in the scort hopefully they fit...175/65r14 to a 205/70r14....well see....
Edit: my vote if you can may as well alittle more assurance on those icy roads!

The tires have pre-drilled holes in the tread that you can put a carbide studs in with a special machine. It grips a little better on ice. The only downside is it sounds like your driving on super swampers.
I ran studded snows on my 99 Bonneville, but I use to drive 600 miles a week to work and back, so I had to drive in any condition and I had a steep driveway. They were awesome but noisy. Now I only drive no more then 200 miles a week thats mostly around town, thats why I can't decide.
Thanks budsjlm, I'm leaning towards studding them, but can't really decide. We only get a few ice storms a winter, but we get a lot of snow

There legal here, even all year, but Maine you can't use them from April 15th til October 15th
I ended up studding them, the poll was a tie, but it only cost me $10 and 45 minuets to stud all of them myself and I remembered I was going to need them to get to my fiancee's parents house because their roads always icy and driveway is very steep. Thank you for voteing
The winterforce is a very nice looking tire by the way. It is very aggressive. Looks like I may be putting them on the car a few weeks early, we have snow in the forecast this week. I'll do a review on them once I use them in a decent snow storm
