CV Stuck In Bad Hub

CV Stuck In Bad Hub
Hey all, I am replacing a passenger side bad wheel hub assembly on a 2003 Monte and I have found the cv will not come out of the hub. I used all the tricks with pb and a love tap. I even got a hub puller to push the shaft through the hub. This thing is stuck. I dont have a torch to heat it and dont want to pull the whole knuckle and cv to get it pressed out. Ive been told when the hub goes bad, heat can cause the splined axle to seize in the hub. Do you have any thoughts or tips? Or experience with this issue? Thanks.

I had this happen on my Monte (ruined my record of getting a front hub done in an hour flat per side). I managed to use an air hammer to pop the hub out of the knuckle. Then I put blocks of wood between the hub and the knuckle (to help avoid the hub from going back in).
Then, I had to graduate from the 2lbs mini sledge to the BIG sledge (I think it was a 3 or 4lbs sledge, long handle). A couple of careful whacks with it and the hub popped off. Luckily, no damage to the CV shaft or the splines.
