Anyone have any luck refinishing factory rims. Mine have a few spots on them especially around the wheel weights. I considering just doing a spot fix and not sanding the clear off the entire rim just the bad areas.

I'm just worried that the repaired areas will stick out like a sore thumb without doing the whole wheel.

 

Tried to do a spot repair by scraping off old clear coat with an old gift card and using a red scotch brite pad to get rid of the corrosion and spray with clear coat. Turned out not so good.

 

You're going to have to get the entire wheels refinished, looks pretty bad not worth it IMO... Unless you really like those wheels
