Smile 96 monte 4wheel disc bake hubs (rear)

Hey guys, It is not often I am stumped by an automotive issue but alas here I am. I am working on a 96 monte Z34 for my bro in law. I replaced the rear hub assemblies on either side because he had slop or end play on both sides. This vehicle is front wheel drive so there's not much in the rear besides the hubs and rotors. I looked at the various supports which hold this in place and found no obvious problems. anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance, Bill

welcome to the site. You said you installed both rear hub assemblies correct? double check that they are torqued correctly, other then that their isn't anything i could think of at the moment that might keep it sloppy. Your checking the slop with tires on in the air?

well actually, the slop (endplay) is only seen when tires are mounted and on the ground which makes me wonder if its something engineered into the hub/rear end.

Could be slop in the control arms or the trailing arm.
