255/45/ZR18's??? How many have these???
I gotta put some new tires on REAL soon. Got stupid, but I won't say what I did to flat spot my rear tires to the cords.
It appears I have 3 choices for tire sizes, 235-50-ZR18, 145-45-ZR18, or 255-45-ZR18. I have the 235's now, because they are basically the same size as the factory tires, 27.3" tall. The 245's are 26.6" tall, and the 255's are 27", but a little wider at 10" vs 9.6", and all 3 weigh 27 lbs.
Does anyone see any reason the 255's won't work? They are a little more mobey, but I'm not sure which tire I'm going to get yet. It's between the Goodyeat Eagle GT, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-2, and the General Exclaim UHP.
I now work about 15 minutes from the South Bend Tire Rack, so that'll probably be hard to beat.
Right now Tire Rack has a special on the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-2 in 245-45-ZR18 for $99 ea, and a $50 rebate on 4 tires.

The down side is they are only a 300 A A rating. However we have these on our Solstice GXP and that has just under 20,000 miles on them, and still have lots of tread life.
Opinions?

It should fit the rim fine....
However, going with a "fatter" or "taller" tire than OEM will make your over all gearing SLIGHTLY taller which equals SLIGHTLY slower off the line....will you notice? hard to say! Also, it will throw off the odometer a bit, nothing overly significant though (we are talking 10th's of a mile)....
Tire Rack offers great deals for sure! I've had really good luck with them........
From what I just looked at for that tire size, the Goodyear for $99 is screamin deal man! I'd buy them!
