You should always do the research before you buy something. You may need to do some suspension work on the struts so you aren't hitting the strut plates. Even if you go with a rubberband tire.

i have 20's on my monte, my tire size is 245-35-20

i dont rub and theres a good amount of space between the tire and fender well, BUT idk about 22's man.. rough ride and rubbing and not enough tread

but i'll tell you this, no matter what people tell you, go with what YOU want to do to your car, dont let anybody talk you out of an idea that you wanna do to your car, unless your putting a huge wing and a fart can on it

you are right. a 245/30/20. the 30 series is te rubberband you are lookin for. it shouldnt scrub, but it may hit the rear strut plate. u may have to hit it with a sledge hamer to bend it up a lil bit, but some considering the offset and fitiment of certain wheels u may not have to touch it at all with a 30 series tire. but if u do, its not too big of a deal. look above your rear wheel and see what we are talking about. its close even on a stock setup.

Any wheels that require hitting the suspension with a sledge hammer to fit are too big IMO.

If you really felt it necessary you could probably just put some spacers in the springs. I have them in back of my monte (dont know why) but it gives you about another inch of clearance. That could probably really help. Considering if you want 22s handling will fail either way.

Do it the right way and dont put wheels on a car that are so big that you need to alter the suspension.
