Default 17 inch rims

I searched around a bit for info on this and didn't find too much. I've got an 00 MC that I just bought, but won't be picking up until Monday. I also have a set of rims/tires off my Grand Am that is heading to the JY this week. The set I've got is 215/45/zr17 Toyo Proxies on Drag DR-12 rims (17x7). What are the chances of these fitting on my Monte properly?

I went to this link (http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp) that I found in a thread on here, but I'm not 100% sure on what size tires are on my Monte since it's not in my driveway yet, but I'd guess 225/60/r16 ? If I had the car here, I would just go put one of my rims on it to see, but thats not the case.

Welcome to the forum. as for the rims on the grand am, it depends on what year it is as to wether they will fit the Monte.

Forgot that part, Ive got a 98, which is 5x100... however my rims are dual lug 5x100 and 5x115, so i know the pattern will be ok, im just worried about possible rubbing, speedo being off by alot, looking like crap if the fender gap is too much, etc.

Thanks for the welcome.

I've been looking for that info, I used to know it, but as far as I can tell, the offset is +40.

If they fit the 5x100 Grand Am they will fit the Monte, the tire will be about 2" short though, won't look good at all.

sucks, but i was afraid of that. i guess worse comes to worse i can always buy tires with more sidewall, once i know what i need, lol. My two front tires need replaced soon anyways, they're getting down a bit on tread.

Thanks for the help guys.

I've got 255-45-17's on my 02 MC and they fit great. i wanted more sidewall for a better ride.

The wheels and tires on your car are substantially taller than the new ones you got. IMO they would look too small on your car. They will be a full two inches shorter. Your speedometer will also be 5 mph off at 60.

edit: sorry wheelguy I didnt see your post. I guess mine is worthless then, lol.

Heres a good website to check tire sizes: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

As far as I can tell, 245/50/r17 is about as close to the stock 16's as it gets. I'm just going to leave the stock alloys on for the rest of this season and get the right tires for next spring (unless I fond some 18s or 19s for a good price)
