So this past weekend I took a trip to a Carshow that was about an hour and a half away they use a portion of the donations for Veterans so I thought why not go.
A week ago I went to a carshow and had no results I think they had me in the Class (WTF did you bring that POS) Lol
Anyway I ended winning my class from 89 to 2002 with my 99 MC, there were 5 entries in that class Stangs, Camaro's, Firebirds, even a Vette. I thought I waisted my time.
But then the surprise was best display of the entire show. I didn't get a photo of the display at this show but it looks the same as the last 2 photo's, I inherited that 3ft long #3 car from a friend that passed away so in his honor I am displaying that too.
Keep in mind this is the most hated MC that was ever born, so that makes it even more special.

ha ha ha karma is a mother, you must of done something really special for Mrs. Bigglesworth and she wished you a good day. And viola, you get a bunch of butt hurt peeps wanting the win and you, you are like "Good karma" must of done something alright my man, pat yourself on the back get a few cheesy photos and yeeha life a be good for Dale, Dean, Count of Monte Christo. You were still feeling extra good till, till you made contact with Mrs. Bigglesworth. She wanted to to celebrate you victory to. She gave you that look, you know "THAT" look. You better make it upstairs this time, cause it was bs you missed the last 3 and I had to call that Johnson fella to bring me over a 4 pack of his fine extra bumpy skin cucumbers over and set a spell while I brushed my teeth. Each time I came back that boy left the cucumbers on the table and I don't se him to a week or more. So you are going to show up tonight and I will rock you world. Hey, lol, you can at least give us an after action report, in detail!!! Oh oh oh and congrats on this win. That had to feel like a million $$$. Your setup for the car is proper, other wise know one can appreciate what have done to it over the years. Car looks good, all our extra black on black graphics etc.CCOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTS
Well this Carshow wasn't to bad, they asked that you call before you went just to make sure that it was safe. The fellow I talked to described it to me, he was doing stuff for veterans and all kinds of things. The entry fee included a meal as well and that was pulled Pork sandwich chips and beans and a drink, then you got Water melon afterwards. But supposedly the Judges did show up and they had to scurry to find some new ones, It took forever to get all the awards passed out. I thought it was a small show in comparison. Confusion for sure. However this fellow that was setup nearby had a beautiful 1970 Chevelle 1 owner car and he got awards for best of show, best GM, best interior. which it was deserving of that.

Thats the thing that turned me off about car shows about 10 years ago. Certainly the 90s/00s Montes aren't usually well liked in the car community, but what made it worse was the area I grew up in was heavily centered around 70s and older cars at the shows (mostly lumped into 20s/30s and 60s/70s). So every show I went to felt like that.
I remember my last show, I was in the 1980+ class (at a show of probably 30 classes). The guy who won my class had a relatively new (at the time) stock, base model C6. The guy put in literally zero effort, not even a trip through an automatic car wash. He was also clearly friends with a couple of the judges. Thats when I got my fill of trying the show thing.
After we moved across country, I started getting more into cruise ins instead. So much less stressful and a much more chill environment (I also like being able to pop in and out when I want vs being tied to a fairly rigid and long time slot).
I am glad to see someone is out there having success with their later gen monte though!

Well someone is getting some unusual lovin from the judges. Then again too, many attendees cast ballots too. Agree with Bumpin, does a heart good to see someone with a Monte win at anything. So many other distractions. I too always felt there should be a different type car show with nothing but 76 and newer only, no one else admitted. They have had one like that these past 2 years in SLC, way different "Rockin Rod" music.
Has done well. Congrats on taking home their largest door stop there brother. You are on a roll Dean!!
Well it's kinda fun, what else do I have to do when I am retired, good thing is Mrs. Bickerson hates carshows and I don't have to take her along. Lol
But occasionally I will take the Blazer and it's been successful in a Trophy grab or 2.
That is a good one for when the crowd is the ones voting they only go for the bling. Lol

I agree, I'd love to see that too. No disrespect to the old stuff, its just not really my main interest and they've already got plenty of shows that cater to that crowd.
We used to have a neat cruise in out here that was mostly older stuff (and brand new stock vettes, lol) during the day that would kind of morph into this exact thing around dinner time. Happened every Saturday night without fail and generally had a very healthy turnout of different stuff each week.
Downside is that COVID almost completely killed it off. The show was cancelled for almost a year and has come back under new ownership in an odd way (pre registered cars only, very narrow / specific daytime hours).
