Default Rebuilding my 03 Monte

Hey everyone, long time member here who hasn’t been on here for a long time. I still have my 6th gen LS, I’ve owned it for 14 years now. It has been sitting in my driveway for the last 6 years, 2 of which I haven’t driven it a single mile. Currently at 213k.I am starting to rebuild the car back to street worthy condition, maybe plus some. It actually runs very strong and the rebuilt transmission has 60k on it. The interior is extremely clean, just needs a new dash cover as it’s cracked, and new window tint. The suspension, brakes, tires, exhaust, CV axles, and headlamps are shot. I am in the process of doing the front end right now, pretty much everything up front is getting replaced. This car has a lot of sentimental value to me since it was my car in high school ( I’m 31 now) and the story on how I obtained it. ( I bought it with proceeds of money that I won at 17 years old)-Long story! But I won 27k in 2009. I still have those aftermarket wheels and also the stock wheels…considering doing the zzp coil overs and new wheels but not sure.

I’ll attach some old pictures and current ones. Yes I have a SLP grill…I remember there were tons on eBay for $50 which is what I paid for mine back in 2010…

Welcome back! From what I see in the pics, your Monte is not too bad off. Just some TLC and back to fun in no time! Happy to hear you still have it.
Just like you I have my high school car. 1984 Z28 Camaro. But it has been off the road for about 20+ years.

thank you, it is very clean still. I use to take such good care of this car before I parked it in 2017. The amount of service history paperwork I have for this car is the size of a dictionary lol.

z28, I always loved those. You plan on getting it back on the road soon?

Attached are a few more pictures as it sits right now.

Just needs new dash cover, old one cracked. Everything else is very clean in interior, shouldn’t need anything else.

3400, I did the lower intake gasket myself in 2017.

If by soon, you mean in my life time, yes. I am in process of trying to slowly get my dream garage/workshop built. That will help me out a LOT to get moving on a few projects.

I don't see rust in typical areas on your Monte, but the trailing arm definitely shows some. Hopefully the underside is still decent. Paint and interior (shy of the missing dash) look good.
