I know it may seem trivial. There are many who don't value these Monte because they are FWD and/or did not come with a v6. But I feel these are great cars. And honestly, I feel an era of cars that might be slipping away a bit. To have such a piece like this is truly an amazing find. I'd love to know what you paid for this gem (but it is not right to ask).
A couple things I can suggest (assuming you want to eventually take this to car shows and show it off):
1. - If you know your heal digs into the floor mat (mine does), get a different set of mats. I am not sure those are offered from GM anymore (I know the "Monte Carlo SS" embroidered mats are not offered).
2. - I don't drive with any cover on my steering wheel, and mine on all my cars are fine. BUT if you decide you want to, get a Wheelskin leather cover. First, they look good. Second, I pulled one off a Monte Steering wheel in the junk yard and the wheel underneath was MINT! I believe other wheel covers move and flex and actually do harm to the wheel (and people normally put them on AFTER they damaged the wheel). Because of how Wheelskin goes on, it stays put and the leather is not abrasive to the wheel it is on.
Did you happen to get any goodies like the original window sticker for it?
Definitely worth taking to car shows!
