SECOND TIME AROUND
Hello all again, well this past weekend I went to the drag strip at Firebird Raceway again with temps from 107 to 100 degrees. My girlfriend and her brother wanted to take their dad to the drag strip and let him race for father's day. He raced his son's 2002 Firebird Formula w6. I raced my monte
My first three runs were low 16's and my reaction times were at .6 and .8 and then I tried to manual shift my car, what a mistake, i red lined and my car stopped in the middle of the track and I was like thinking I blew my tranny and thankfully I put in the emergency brace unlocked my brakes and restarted my car and it started right back up, what a sigh of relief. Then I just ran again and got a 16.00 time and i was like awesome i can break my 16's time, so then I race a newer pontiac sunfire and I did a burnout and got a .388 reaction time and I got a quarter mile time of 15.954 and his time was 16.1 and we were even until the end and I won, Then I raced again with a reaction time of .229 and did a 15.963 time and i got in the high 15's three times, I was excited I got better at short burnouts and better reaction times, i can't wait till it is fall for cooler temperaturs.
The firebird did low 14's and my girlfriends dad had raced a 3000gt vr4 twin turbo and the race was so close until the end when the turbo's kicked in, the firebird did 14.1 and the 3000gt did a 13.6 run
we had alot of fun and I finally hit the 15's
