Default RT66 Dragway 1/4 mile

Hey everybody, I have finally taken my Monte out to the 1/4 mile! I was so excited to have my first runs and basically came out where I expected to be.

2-3hrs in between runs (they had a ****ty 'favored' setup) on test & tune
so it gave my car plenty of time to cool off below the temp gauge.

First time ever being at the track, which I'm happy I've had a chance to as it was always a goal of mine. That and a dyno which should be soon too!

Going from a few sites, I guess the 3.8's run a 16.6...so yay, i'm a LITTLE quicker!

1st run:

r/t: .671
60': 2.431
ET: 16.565 @ 83.79mph

2nd run:

r/t: .389
60': 2.541
ET: 16.937 @ 82.41mph

3rd run: (after getting the hang of staging & launching)

r/t: .147 (awesome!!)
60': 2.554
ET: 16.593 @ 84.17

OVERALL:

Best run was a 16.5 @ 84mph with my best reaction time of .147 seconds!

MODS:

LA1 (3.4L) w/ 126,xxx miles
High flow cat
U-bend del
res del
straight pipe from the cat to the rear bumper
milzy coolant bypass kit
custom fab RAM CAI
custom fab ram air engine cooler
16" MB aluminum Motorsport rims
Spare tire & jack removal
89oct

EXPERIENCE:

My experience was AMAZING. I absolutely LOVED the event, and how my car performed even WITH 126,xxx miles! To me, that's fantastic! It makes me now want to hunt down parts and make it go faster and gut it LOL

Thanks everyone for reading!

I'm glad you had a good time, especially since it's your first time at the track. Your times are about where they should be and that proves that your Monte is running good even with a little mileage on it.

Also, I know that on the internet they give Montes with an L36 a 16.6 second 1/4 or something like that but from all the times I've been at the track and also from Youtube videos, I see them running between a 15.6-16.3. When I ran my Monte when it was bone stock, it ran a 15.7.

Regardless, you had a good time and did a good job. Keep up the good work and maybe someday you'll be turbocharged and running 12's

Thanks! I had a lot of fun, and that's what it's all about

Ahh okay. Damn. 15.6-16.3...oh well time to shoot for that next!

Thank you I will, I'd like to know what a stock LS runs and compare it with my mods. Boy, I can only dream of running 12's

I am taking my 3400 to the drag strip this summer and hopefully i run similar times. Might be a little slower since i don't have the ram air cooling, u-bend delete, high flow cat, or running 89. But i will have a tune and possibly the coolant bypass from Millzy and new downpipe. Is this the one you have? 3100/3400 Modified Heater Tube - Milzy Motorsports
