I've done the same thing... I've been to 130 in my Monte Carlo... it was crazy, it was stupid, I could have killed someone.... I can't remmeber who on the top of my head on this forum's signature says "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional." I guess I took both routes

Actually the car was very stable at 130 I thought.... and it took about 2 miles to get from 55 to 130! It wasn't drifting anywhere or anything... I just remember blowing by a car at 125 who was going about the speed limit... what he must have been thinking.... what if I had blown a tire? What if he blew a tire? What if he swerved to miss a deer (has happened on the interstates around here)... these are the kinds of things race car drivers don't worry about, they don't worry about if their brakes are going to fail, if something is going ot happen, if they will run across a piece of roadkill.... it's just crazy! Car that can handle it or no.

I'm 28 and getting old. And I think:
Street racing on a deserted highway with concrete barriers on both sides is fine and dandy in my book. If someone gets hurt, it's their fault for taking part in it.
Street racing in traffic, in a residential area, where you could lose control and hit someone, or anywhere were some innocent person could pull out and get hurt is pretty crappy.
I used to have a pretty quick Mustang and did a bunch of street racing back in the day- now that I'm married and settled down (with the accompanying FWD V6 grocery getters to prove it) I don't really do it now- too much too lose.

Im in this one. My clutch needed to be bleed so it would let me speed shift so was on the rev limiter a bit. lol I will be in one with the silver TB SS that run 11.7's and a white blower 97 cobra that makes 465whp. It says 404whp but the belt was bad on that dyno day. New belt was put on this day of the race and later put down 465whp the next day. i started a car behind them and went off there jump. It at the 3:20 mark, one time i way playing with taking off in 2nd him just keeping the car next to him lol

Me racing a car with 100more hp and my car had a extra 300lbs in it. passenger, tools, jack lol So i was happy with the out come. He has a crazy built 5.4 with sheet metal intake, 14lbs of boost and all i have is a all motor car aftermarket cam shaft and some exhaust lol I later beat him with weight out of the car and him not bumping the spray off the line for a sec to get the jump. It starts at the 1:17 mark

Yep, that's why LSx's are awesome. I remember ~5 years ago being at the track in my Mustang, which was going low 13s at the time and seeing an 02ish Trans Am running 12.2 with a real good MPH...I struck up a conservation with the guy and found out it had a cam, bolt-ons, and drag radials only as mods! I couldn't believe how quick it was for the mods into it. I've been impressed with the LSx since.

im trying to actually cut back and slowly try to quite street racing. I mean i dont think i will ever quite 100% but make it so i do it way way way less, i mean hell i maybe get in 5 races a month so thats not bad. When i move the 6 speed will be coming out and a powerglide with a transbrake will be going it. should put the car in 10's with just a cam shaft. Then when i do the turbo setup it will love the powerglide!!!! It will still be driven on street to
