thanks everybody, i only did three runs but i wanted to go all night lol. i think the reason it actually went that fast was bc they had repaved the left lane a few months ago and it was REALLY sticky, as in when i hit the gas i didnt hear even a chirp. everyone that went in the left lane was a ton faster than in the right. ill try and go back to the track when i get new tires. and i will DEFINATELY save my slips. idk why i didnt save them, i was freakinin out bc i actually beat something other than a riced out neon or civic. is it bad on the halfshafts to foot brake a fwd car? bc everytime i lauched i foot braked it to about 2300 rpm.

Make sure that from now on you save your time slips. Like I said, there is a LOT of useful information on them about your car. But at least this gives you an excuse to go back to the drag strip

It sounds like you found the sweet spot for launching your Monte. As far as snapping some shafts with those launches, I wouldn't be worried about them. The tranny on the other hand...

Congrats on the kill and I'm so glad you took it to the track and not on the street.

ive seen too many of my friends destroy their cars and their lives bc they decided to race someone on the street. i've been guilty of the occasional straight race on a deserted highway early in the am. but even then it wasnt for long. i almost got hit in my monte by someone who didnt know how to drive and they still tried to race someone.

Here's his Cardomain: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/473859...et-monte-carlo

He did a LOT of custom work to get his Monte to run that time too. As far as your time is concerned, it's kinda hard saying because we can't see what your time slips were (lol, sorry to bring that up again). Usually though, when you see someone run a fast time with a low trap speed, it's a combination of good traction and gearing.

Reaction time and deep staging will also help to shave a little off your time.
