Last summer i took my car to the track with a couple of my buddies. My first friend has a white 2007 Mustang GT. Personally i laugh because he paid a **** load more than i did and i beat him up and down the street with my monte. My other buddy has a camaro SS which in my opinion is a sick *** car, much respect. I had recently read that my Monte Carlo according to many forums i read runs anywhere from 14 to 14.5 in the 1/4 mile. While at the track my first run was a 14.01 which i found to be pretty close to reviews, BUT my second third and so on runs where dipping more into the 13s. My best time came out to 13.69 which beat my buddies Camaro SS which he hated. He is bone stock and they are rated around 13.9 which pissed him off. Anyway i've earned the title of the guy that owns the FACTORY FREAK MONTE. I think its funny because there is no better feeling of beating modern day muscle cars with your montes as most of you guys can contest to. Anyway thought id share my story with you guys, and oh yea for the mustang you guys know the story he never stands a chance against a chevy!

 

i love beatin on the mustangs. its awesome. as for the camaro they dont got as much horse and he probably spun the tires more than you. can we get some pics of your monte?

Nice post, its great to see actual numbers and this really helps to giving us great information.

I only want that engine even more, I think in five years it will be that ls4 engine and then the paint job.

I know that can kill a mustang cause I have seen mustangs from 14.0 to high 14's in a new gt.

Is that plane stock with no modifications or tuned to get that 13.69 time?

 

Yes the 13.69 was stock.. The only thing that took a while is getting the right launch with t/c on or off..
With traction control on i am able to launch at around 3000rpms and get moving quick, although it cuts power its quite effective for street racing.
With the traction OFF is when i was running my 13 second passes. With the VHT they spray at the track, it hinders traction control pointless... Anyone who is going to the track for the first time its good to experiment, but like i said its best with traction control off and launch around 2500 to 3000 rpms for best results. With my traction control on i ran anywhere from 14.1 to 14.5 which really turned me off!!!! I have about 10 to 15 slips from when i raced at the track with times to prove it lol! Hope this helps someone!

Thanks, Im thinking of putting the 5.3 in her when tax money comes in...and maybe some cash for new tires.

 

I have low profile tires on my monte, and they hook up really well on the street.. It helps alot when racing i hook up so much better than other cars on the street its a HUUGE advantage!
