I was on my way back from Taco Bell when I came up to a stop light. It was a 3 way lane I was in the left, another in the center. I see from my rear view mirror the yellow Honda coming up from the center lane. Once he get close to the other car in front of him he moves the the right lane which was vacant. I didn't think too much of it now since he went further away from me. It looked like a some cocky black guy on with the top down.

So I thought "MAYBE" he might want some and I'll get lucky. No cops around and no cars in front of us. Once the light turned green I went mid way to get a good jump to see if he went since I could not see because of the car in the center. Thats when I saw him also mid gun it and was changing to the center lane. Once I saw that it was ON. I smashed the pedal as he did and I good fender jump on him. We stayed that way for about 4 seconds or so. I glance over to him and see his face kind of surprised looking at me. Then he slowly started to creep up. He then had his rear bumper at my front bumper when I looked down to see that we were going 76 mph.

That's when I decided to slow down cause it was a 35 mph zone, my turn was coming up and 76 at 35 is just too much . I still had more room to go but I still wasn't going to catch up anyways. I'm just glad I wasn't walked on and the ol' 3.9 was a good match for him.

Also my engine sounds bad *** when its at WOT. I don't know if its the gutted air box or just the engine but its a DEEP sound. I need to record it someday.

 

Were the tail lights just red and clear or did they have amber in them as well?

Those cars are fun, and handle really well, but like all Honda VTEC's, their power is up top. If you ever get the opportunity to drive one, do it!

 

haha nice job. I also cut a big fat hole in my stock airbox on the side closest to the fender before the air filter to catch some more cold air into my 4.3L s10 and it sounds very nice when i step on it all the way too!

 

I did the same in my Blazer, and added flowmaster 40's nice sounding truck. still wondering why the 4.3 couldn't have been used in the monte, especially with a super charger on it
