502 is a big block. Period.
As for HP. You don't just drop a huge motor in a car and expect it to kill everything on the street. It doesn't work like that. The bigger the motor, the beefier everything else in the car needs to be, which means more $$$$ and more mods. And even then you can make all the HP in the world, but it means jack **** unless you can get it to the ground.

Oh for comparison. I have a 350 SBC with pretty good internals that is roughly a 400 HP motor, and also running 100 shot of NOS. On slicks my car will run 12.18, and can probably get it into the high 11's with some more tuning. That should give you an idea of what it takes to get into the 11's. 400 turbo trans with shift kit, Hurst 1/4 stick, 3:73 gears.
