Although I am most ashamed to tell this I feel I must. Some sort of brand new off the lot Izuzu suv beat me on a straight-away. Of course I had the take off at the light but He got me about 5 secs in. I could tell it was 5-speed but still!!! All I have on the 03 ss is straight pipes which im now thinking about puttin a canister. I dont run a maf sensor so I wonder if that had anything to do with it. The thing I dont get is I've beat civic si's and other tuned cars including some lexus' with no problem but at starting speeds at 50-60.

Im deff ashamed to say that i lost a race to a Cobalt XFE yet i beat Subaru Imprezas (off the line as well) & V6 Stags all day, but we all have an off day

 

i've never been challenged to race my monte, maybe because i'm to old or something? or maybe people think my car isn't worthy of racing, who knows. i won't do a chase race with anyone, meaning you pass me and i try and catch-up in traffic, no way! i'd rather take my car to a quarter mile track and see what i can do there!

 

i get into hwy races all the time, chase raced a xB with a bunch of stickers everywhere all the way down i55 from where the 4 lane starts till South County, but if there's traffic i avoid doing that, ive also done a few races from a dead stop or rolling 30 on the hwy late at night, i know street racing isn't right but im not one to back down when a lil ricer punk goes flying by

 

Haha best situation ever this summer, I didnt care If i lost. Did some 65-100 sprints with a 4th gen, some guy I didnt even know. It was pretty awesome lol.

 

No didnt spin out. I had the trac off too but tires were pretty warm as it was.

My mafs off cuz it started malfunctioning on me one day, shuttin down the car completely, so I unplugged it, and the car ran fine. I never remember to go get another one because my car runs perfect without it. Only time I remember is when I here my idle up and down and then at times like this.

Yea i mostly get into highway races too and it's funny how you should say that 3831. I actually got into this race cuz I saw the isuzu gunning it by me, which I caught up to him real quick with no problem. It was just at the light that he had me. Take off was just like he was using spray, although doubt it. His shifts were probably just good.

 

Yea, we have pretty slow shifting transmissions.
