I took my car down to the track tonight and got 12 passes...It went great....BUT I HAVE YET TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR ALL CARS AND WHAT THEY HAVE AND CAN DO......I joined this formum to talk to guys who have monte and race them and tell about it...we need to share more stories...So please tell me some good races...

 

Mine is my DD and I have never taken it to a track and more than likely never will until I get another car as my DD.



I've had street encounters but nothing too much to speak of, yet. Just the occasional Rustang or ricer beat down.

 

Hi Joshua, Why don't you start with your story? What were your E.T.'s & Trap Speed. What type cars have you raced ? What type of cars have you won against ? What type of cars have beaten yours ?

Most of my friends have Ricer's & they kick my butt after 30-40 MPH. (Exception: My friends WRX, just blows my doors off from start 2 finish). I traded my Honda for my Monte & I now just cruise & baby my ride. My friends are always working on their rides and rebuilding and replacing their parts. (Mine is a stock 3.8 200 HP w/ K&N) 0-60 in the mid 7's & 1/4 mile in the high 15's or low 16's @ around 87-89 MPH @ Orlando Motor Speedway in Feb 06 (Night runs in 60 degree temp's.. Oh, my Honda V-Tech was faster : ( , but I was getting 2 many tickets. I've learned that speed cost....big bucks $$$$$.
Now I'm just a spectator of legal & illegal races. I dream of future project cars and exotic high performance vehicles, but for now I will just enjoy the beautiful art of auto machines and keep working towards my dreams.

I'm sure that you will find many members that are fortunate to afford the luxury of racing their machine, but this forum contains a lot more then racing. There are many knowledgeable/experienced members that freely help when you are confronted with problems. Explore the forum in your leisure & I'm sure that you will enjoy.

Here are few of my races...Mind you this is when all my car was all stock, just shuper charged...

I raced a srt-4 neon, i had a r/t of.275 60' 2.173 1/4 14.984 @ 91.44 he ran a 1/4 @ 14.151 I had him to the 1/8 mile and then thoose things pull hard up top and he went right by.


I raced a bran new Acura rsx type s with intake i had a 1/4 of 14.996 @ 91.41 and he ran a 14.811 95.02 he got me but barely...

My best pass i made was against a cummings disel 05 w/ inter cooler exhaust intake and stock turbo....
I had a r/t of .083 60- 2.118 1?4 14.829 mph 93.43 he ran a 15.068 in the 1/4 @ 91.13

I raced 3 hondas with turbos who ran high 15 and beat them, raced a jetta who had a high 15, beat a mustang 5.0 old one, Lost to a z06 vette but i would hope so...

This would be my DD car during the summer and during the winter months its parked and I drive a truck....I take it to a long strip in the city that people take there cars too and cruise almost every friday night...Down there its not real hard to beat people alot of them drive v-6 miustangs and tons and tons of Ricers with big fart pipes...

My buddy has a gtp and we go back and forth, but he alot faster then me, same engine but not stock, he has several things done that brought him to 13.998 @ 103, what I have written below is what he has done, and what I am going to be installin as soon as it comes in, he jsut ordered more parts and will probally turn down a 13.4 @ 106 is what he is hopin that as well is his DD....Our cars are great cause they have a cast iron block so you dont have to worry about them ever really breakin maybe go through a transmission but not from a long time...
So race away...lol

Why would anybody race a new Monte SS... are you insane?

Why, mine only has 400 miles on the clock.... Get real daddy-o!

Yeah i have a 04 so you know, I wanted a super charged one so i got this one instead of a new one, but yeah i understand a bran new one you might not want to race yet...

but I babied the car at the track.....
