yea 260bhp is a big difference between whp ... that little 4 banger can't hang on top end ...

 

when the cobalt start coming with more than 210 hp stock?

 

These little 4 bangers are hitting the dyno in stock form, and were pulling anywhere from 190 to 205whp. That equates to somewhere in the 235-250 crank HP range. GM still published a low power spec on the engine... why? I don't know.

 

That's what I was going to say lav74, those things have more hp than claimed. What most people are talking about with 260hp is the new Turbo Cobalt that is coming out soon. It has the same engine as the Solitice and the HHR SS. GM says 260hp

Ford used to be big into this... underrate the engines. This is so when the insurance company looks at them they see 210 hp instead of 250 or 260 even... makes the rates a tad lower, the car more affordable, and the owners happier and maybe even increase sales because of it

 

just remember on any given day anyone can win all it takes is missing a gear a pore launch or just the simplest not being able to drive what ya got, so i say if you feel u can take him give it a shot if you have any doubts wait until you are confident that you will take him. i would try light to light first and see what he can do.

 

You could always slash his tires ... Then you automatically win by default

The best way to find out is take it the the drag strip line them up and let the lights decide. Street light always someone will differ that they jump the light or so. If you got time lights then it is all over for the one that is slow to react.Street racing is just a trill and who knows who beat what. Times slips tells it like it is.

If all else fails there is always PINKS. You either can ride home or walk.
