Or you could just run plate-less. A guy I work with has been going without one for 10 years. Only got pulled over once for it. In the Spring once I paint my filler plate, I'm going to try the same.
I am in NY, too, & the Old Man & I have refused to run fronts for near 30 years. I gladly take the tickets. I carry the other with me, & having it has gotten me out of quite a few, & many times, around here, if you are not runnin' one on a nice ride, & not raisin' H3!!, you are more likely to slide.
