Yes Ive looked on ebay and craigslist. Ebay has some in my price range but I'm not going to risk buying a car on ebay. Thank You though.

ha yeah let me check my back pocket oooohh what do ya know there was 12k in it!! haha! No unfortunately insurance company only gave me 4k.. and I am a nursing student and only work part time as a Medical Assistant.

Yeah I was thinking if I do find one for that price it might be a P.O.S. My friend works car auctions and knows other people that also work car auctions so hes keeping an eye out for me. I know buying a car at an auction isint the best idea but my friend will know the people so they wont scam him.

Thank You for all your replys!

actually buying from ebay is pretty reputable, a lot of the cars on there are directly from dealerships. if you see one you like, make an appointment to go look at it before you buy it, and bring someone with you that knows what to look for.

i've had a lot of friends and co-workers buy cars from ebay without any problems at all. one of my mechanics here buys them off there all the time.

auctions can be good too but there are a lot of junk cars so just make sure you know what you're looking at/for before you buy something, no matter where you get it from.

good luck and keep us posted!!

Id say for around 4k, if you do want an SS it will probably be high mileage, just make sure if its over 110k miles it has a new or rebuilt transmission in it.

You could have much better luck looking for an LS... but, if you can find a good SS for that price, nab it.
