When you need to have your car painted, there are a variety of factors that affect the cost to paint a car. So, how much would it cost to paint a car? If you only need to have a panel or two painted, then the cost would be drastically lower than having the entire car painted. Additionally, it is even more expensive to have a car’s color changed or to have premium auto paint and top coats applied to your vehicle. Unfortunately, there aren’t many corners to cut to reduce the average cost to paint a car. You best bet to finding a price that is affordable is to determine what you need and not purchase any additional services.

The cost to paint a car can vary from around $300 to over $2000, depending on the type of work you need to have completed. If you’ve replaced an exterior panel of your vehicle, and the paint doesn’t match, you will find that the cost is much lower. To paint an entire vehicle, the costs will vary depending on the size of the vehicle, the type of auto paint chosen and the company you choose to complete the job. Large auto paint retailers, like Maaco, can typically afford to charge less for their services than small privately owned service centers. Additionally, Maaco often offers coupons and special sales to further reduce the cost of painting your car.

If you’d like to change the color of your car to black, or any other color that is not already present on your vehicle, you should expect to pay more for this service. At one time I wanted to have Sally (Our 04 Monte SS) repainted. One very small crease in the rear fender was the only body repair needed. I was quoted 5,000 at Mason Auto Body for Met. blue. I never got it done

They do cost a lot!

Got the front/hood (rock chips and dings also fixed)/and driver side rear panel painted (ding popped out) in spring for $1000!

 

It cost me $2000 just in paint and supplys to paint mine
