Default wanna replace my spoiler

i want one of the stand up spoilers, but i saw a thread where someones surfboard spoiler left scratched and wore down the paint. is this common? is it fixable or does the whole trunk lid have to be repainted?

i have a stock surboard spoiler and want to switch to a OEM stand up spoiler (00-05)

Its possable it can wear the paint down but unless u get a 06-07 ss spoiler ull prob have extra holes to weld up, best thing is prob to find a trunk in a junk yard with a stand up on it

I searched and searched, the 06-07 stand up are hard to come by, a junkyard trunk lid swap would probably be easier and cheaper. I cant find atrunk my color either.

The 00-05 stand up has different mounting points. So you will most likely have scratching AND you will have holes in your trunk that will need to be professionally filled.

The swap to the 06/07 is easier, but it doesn't cover the whole area and it will need the trunklid repainted. The pictures you most likely saw were mine.

I agree with the others that swapping the whole trunk-lid would be your easiest bet if you didn't want to bother with repaints and everything.

You only need the top of the trunk-lid repainted. Since they can blend at the bend, makes life easier.
