Vinyl Wrapped Trunk Panel.. Shiny!
I painted my trunk panel two years ago and now it's getting dull and a little chipped. I thought it might look good to use some vinyl on it because it would match my ground effects and also make it shiny again. Turned out pretty good if you ask me.
Still undecided if I should cut out the reflectors and keyhole (don't use the keyhole anyway). Not sure if I should put the bow tie back either. What's your opinion??
Here's how I did it. First thing was to remove the bow tie. I found some sort of defect under it so I sanded that first so it wouldn't show through the vinyl.
Before.
You can see the cracking clear coat here too.
Laying out the vinyl.
Smoothing it out.
Finished.
There were a few bubbles but nothing you can't see unless you're looking for it.
A few pics in the shade.
Thanks for looking.
