Default Universal

There is not that much out there for aftermarket hoods for the 6th gen Monte's. I was thinking about using a universal one(Duraflex Vortex or the Duraflex Spyder). Has anyone used one of these? Which one do you all think would flow better with the lines of the car? It has the Sarona Razzi ground effect kit on it and I don't want to mess up the look it has. Thank you all in advance

They make a spyder3 hood for our cars. For my hood I custom built it off a factory hood.

There is also like a "ram air" style I hood I believe for our cars

The MPD hood is a good one. MPD motorsports performance design – Monte Carlo Ram Air Hood 2000+

It actually has a steel frame, unlike all of the other ones that are 100% fiberglass, this allows it to be a little more rigid and you have less chance of having it warped and actually fit when you get it.

The fiberglass ones are usually cheaper, but take more work to align properly and that can cost good money at a shop.

X2 I would suggest saving for this. If you really want to do a functional ram hood save for the MPD Hood. Other scoops required alot of work to make them look right. If you dont really want the function than go to carID and get the spider hood. Looks kinda like the MPD but its not functional.

I have the all fiberglass ram air one. It was not really cheap back in the day, plus shipping was like an extra 300 or so. And it does not fit like a glove, it has warping issues for sure.
