I had someone rear end my vehicle and it is in the body shop. It was completed but when I went to get it the trunk lid and spoiler were wrong type, the spoiler for sure. It was the flatboard instead of the Nascar style. The trunk lid is where I am having issues with the body shop. They pulled the trunk lid off of a 2005 model. I thought 05 and below were compatible but 06-07 were the only ones that had mtaching parts except for the engine 3.9 which I have. Either way, I made my case and they had to order a new deck lid and spoiler due to the fact that they could not find one recycled. Any Monte owners know if 05 and 06 are compatible body parts? I looked on gm parts direct and they are different part numbers. 06 is #89024750 and 05 is #89025344. Please any and all chime in as I plead my case to the adjuster and body shop. Thanks.

 

Ok well the lids hould be thesame fitting, but the 00-05 nascar spoiler will not mount into the holes of the flat surfboard spoiler. The 06-07 Nascar spoiler should fit into the holes that the surfboard sits in on the 00-05 trunk lid.

 

So the lid is 05 and came with the 05 surfboard spoiler. They had to order a new Nascar spoiler from dealer because they simply don't exist aftermarket. So your saying the 06-07 Spoiler will fit right on the 05 deck lid on the my 06 Monte and that even though they are different part numbers showing up the 05 and 06 deck lids are the same?

 

05 lid with 05 surf holes + 06/07 pace spoiler = compatible (holes will line up)

05 lid with 05 surf holes + 00/05 pace spoiler = NOT compatible (holes need to be drilled)

 

If you were rear ended the Insurance Co has to bring your vehicle back to pre-accident condition. If that insurance will only replace your parts with Used or Aftermarket they still have to fit. If they don't like you say,tell shop to contact rep and submit a supplement for Part Price Increases. They will list why & your issue will be resolved. You shouldn't do any leg work
