it may be a stupid question but before i invest any more money into having a pace car spoiler on my car i have a few concerns. i bought a pace car spoiler for my 2000 MC ss, after i got it i looked and realized that the surfboard wholes are different the the pace spoiler wholes. if your standing behind the car, the surfboard spoiler has two wholes more towards the center of the trunk lid. if i put on the pace spoiler those wholes would be visible. should i patch up all the wholes and have the pace spoiler wholes drilled? or should i just settle with a 06/07 pace spoiler even though i don't like those as much but i do know they use the same wholes? or should i just buy and LS trunk lid without a spoiler and drill the wholes for the pace spoiler? also are the trunk lids all the same? except for the newer body styles. like a 2000 SS trunk lid compared to a 2000 LS trunk lid.


any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. i know i made a pretty good mistake, and now i am paying for it, LITERALLY!!!

 

You almost have to answer your own question regardless of what we think.

Buy the Pace Car Spoiler and do some bondo, drillingand paint work.....

...or buy the 06/07 "race-inspired" spoiler and do little to no work on your trunk lid.

The choice depends on what you want to do.

I personally think the 06-07 spoiler looks tons better than the small pace car blade spoiler anyways.

 

the pace car spoiler looks good... but i think i've read wehre people have to drill new holes nad fill old ones to put those on. lot of work..... is it worth it? will the paint ever match up due to the fading of the paint on your current car?

 

yeah i know, those were more thoughts i have had. but i HATE the surfboard spoiler, thats why i have my mind set on changing it but don't know what route to take.

 

The 06/07 'race-inspired" spoiler is NOT a surfboard spoiler.

 

i know, i have a surfboard now and hate it. i have seen the 06/07 spoilers. they don't look to bad. but i like having a spoiler look more like its part of the trunk. and i thought the pace spoiler did a better job then the 06/07 spoiler.

 

i went to http://www.carccessory.com/detail.as...te_Carlo_1786aand looked at the spoiler there, but it looks like the one i already bought but says its from 2000-2007. any thoughts?

As I understand from readingmanyposts, most members like the 06/07 spoiler.

But you could always start a new poll.

 

So what's the difference between the pace and the '06-'07 like what I have. Or were you just referring to the surfboard type on the LS and 3.5 LT?

 

According to his sig, he has the surfboard so I think he knows what ours looks like.

I think he likes the Sports Appearance Package look of the blade spoiler.
