Default Sunroof!

So I was thinking... I know that aftermarket sunroofs can be a nightmare. BUTT! What if I purchased a sunroof from a salvaged Monte? I was poking around Morads and found a few. I figured since they were made for the Montes that it would be at least fit right. I don't know. You guys are extremely helpful and I would appreciate your input.

to do it you would have to replace your roof skin to on with the sunroof opening, & idk how you would wire it up & all that its prob a bigger deal than most think it is

Hmm...true. Again, just one of my random thoughts. It'd be cool if I could make it happen though.

If you go aftermarket, just get one that pops open - no power. Then you'll have one similar to the factory sunroofs. That's because the factory ones will break down and not open anyway! My 1999 has a sunroof assembly (broken) thats almost entirely constructed of plastic. Brilliant.

I agree with Mike. Yes, it can be done, and as you already mentioned, it can be a nightmare putting a sunroof in that is not installed at the factory.

I don't think the cost is worth it.

I had a 96 Grand Prix Coupe and I got an aftermarket power sunroof installed. It was guaranteed for the life of the car. I have know idea what these places are charging now though. I think mine cost about the same as the factory charged - around $900 (but that was over 10 years ago).
